SWAMI VIVEKANANDA SMARAK

DEOGHAR SOCIETY, CHINCHWAD, PUNE

The site is situated in open area of Deoghar society adjacent to existing nala on one side and Vivekananda chowk on other side. Chinchwad Deosthan trust brief us to make simple platform covered from top to place statue of Swami Vivekananda. As per the rules of Government agencies we have to make min. 10 feet high platform for statue. Instead of making platform, room is proposed whose top slab is for placement of statue. The room can be used for library. Instead of making typical compound wall, simple entrance gateway is designed with two vertical columns and beam with M.S. grillwork. The structure is placed at the farther end of the site with walkway, seating arrangement in stainless steel and garden on front side. Entrance gateway and structure is placed in line dividing vertically the site into two parts for gardening purpose. Staircase of different widths is designed for easy access and can be used for sitting purpose also. The whole structure is RCC frame structure with brick infill walls and cladded with Red agra stone. Eight decorative columns on the platform are finished in GRC having motif carved at the centre of the height of the column. The motif used is designed by Swami Vivekananda. Chatri at the top is from FRP material white in colour with red ribs. Some walls are cladded with white marble engraved of quotes of Swami Vivekananda. Tops of all parapet walls including staircase parapet wall is finished in white marble. Overall red and white combination is used for whole structure.
